Abominable #4 Update and New Map

Due to a flowing river of a course, the Eagle River Nature Center Fundraiser race will now be held at Mirror Lake this Saturday at 11am. Please sign up online by 7pm Friday night by 7pm. See you all out there!

Abominable #3 is cancelled

Abominable #3 will be cancelled. If there is a week with good weather and no other races going on, we will try to hold a make up race so stay tuned. Sorry about the weather.

Abominable #3 is postponed.

Unfortunately, we will have to postpone the Abominable #3 until next weekend. Huge shout out to Clinton Hodges, Kevin Murphy, and Nick Blades for helping to pack the course and beat the weather. However, the weather won again. Oh well. We will try for next Saturday at the same time. Stay tuned on Facebook and abominableak.blogspot.com for more info. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Abominable #3 Course Map - January 18, 2014 at 6:00PM

Abominable #3 Short Track

• Date - Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 6:00 PM 
• Location - Cuddy Park in Midtown Anchorage 
• Parking - Park at the Loussac Library
• Registration - You can register online at Sign Me Up.com or register on site at the registration table which will be located at the start/finish. Online registration is $15 and on site registration will be $20. On site registration and race check in will be available from 5:00 PM to 5:45 PM.  It's cold out, so save our volunteers some time and cold fingers and sign up online! 
• Pre-Race Meeting - The pre-race meeting will be held at 5:50 PM at the Start/Finish.
• Course Information
• Start/Finish - The race will start and finish on the bike path loop in Cuddy Park nearest to the Loussac Library Parking lot.
• Sport and Beginner racers will start at 6:00 PM and will race for 25 minutes plus 1 lap. Experts will start at 6:45 and will race for 30 minutes plus 1 lap.
• Race timers will start ringing a bell when the race leader has one lap to go. After the race leader has begun their last lap, every rider there after will be given the bell to begin their last lap. Once the race leader has finished their last lap, every rider after that will be done.
• Race maps will be posted soon.
• Race course and number of laps subject to change depending on conditions.
